Today, we made a decision.
Black Girls Only™ will not simply become another organization.
We are building a National Community Platform for Black Women.
Every experience we design…
Every publication we produce…
Every partnership we pursue…
Every leader we develop…
Every dollar we steward…
Every woman we serve…
Will reflect our Promise.
We will not compromise our values for growth.
We will not sacrifice purpose for popularity.
We will not pursue opportunities that require us to abandon the women we are called to serve.
We will build with excellence.
We will lead with integrity.
We will serve with compassion.
And every decision we make will begin with one question:
"How do we best serve the women who come?"
This is our Promise.
This is our Leadership Principle.
This is our Brand.
This is our legacy.
Today, we begin building a
National Community Platform for Black Women.
May we never become so busy building the platform that we forget the people it was built to serve.
May every woman who comes to Black Girls Only™ leave stronger than she arrived.
May our Promise always be greater than our popularity.
May our integrity always be greater than our influence.
May our purpose always be greater than our success.
And may every generation that follows protect this Promise
with the same love and courage with which it was first written.
This Promise was written for every Black woman and girl who has ever been told she wasn't enough. Come as you are. Rise as you were meant to.
